The Transplant Research Foundation of BC (TRF) is partnering with Providence Health Care (PHC) and Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) to fund solid organ transplant related projects through their Research Challenge programs. These programs are targeted at Point-of-Care Nursing and Allied Health Staff, and provide $5,000 grants to qualified projects.
This year, TRF will fund 1 -2 highly ranked transplant related projects through each of these Programs. We are particularly interested in clinical or practice oriented projects that directly impact patient care or organ donation. Examples include: helping transplant recipients track their medication and appointments, reducing pain and discomfort associated with clinical tests and procedures, helping transplant recipients connect with support groups, or information/support to help families of hospitalized, potential organ donors.
